U-Value
The U-Value of the glass refers to how well it prevents heat being radiated outside. The lower the value, the better. To put the values into perspective, single-glazed glass has a typical u-value of 5.6, ordinary double-glazing is between 2.8 and 3.5, double-glazing with low-emissivity glass is around 1.8, and the low-emissivity glass with argon has in the gap is around 1.6.

Glass for use in Stone domestic properties typically comes in two varieties; single or double-glazed, with a choice of either float/annealed or toughened glass. Single-glazed windows with float glass can normally be fitted on the same day. Our Stone glaziers are able to replace glass from either the outside or the inside of properties, if the framework allows it. If required, we can source scaffolding and/or lifting vehicles for high glass installations.
